Your Basic Rights in Time-Share

If you attend a selling session in one of the Time Share companies within our destination, we want to let you know your very basic rights according to the Laws of Mexico and the State Time-Share Law that regulates this type of activity for the protection of the consumers. No matter what nationality your have, our Laws will protect you because they apply for everybody.

You are not obligated in any way to buy or sign anything, even if you previously received a free breakfast, gift, lodging, etc. by the Time-Share personnel.
You may cancel the contract at any time WITHIN THE FIRST FIVE WORKING DAYS after the date signed, without compromise to any of the parts. If you gave a deposit, the company must return it in a maximum of 15 days after the cancellation.
In the event of any type of irregularity during the selling session, you may file a complaint with the "State UnderCommissioner for Time-Share Control" at  the Office of the State Tourist Bureau, Galo #3, Centro (Downtown near Plaza Kioto), Zihuatanejo, Tel. (755) 544-8361 y 544-8350). If the complaint is out of their jurisdiction and/or faculties, or it may require additional legal actions, they will refer you to PROFECO.
You may also file a complaint with PROFECO (Federal Bureau for the Protection of the Consumers) at their local office located in Ave. Morelos & Vicente Guerrero, Centro (Downtown), Zihuatanejo.
If you have any doubts or if you will like to find out all the rights and obligations for both parts, we recommend to contact above authorities during regular business hours. Knowing our Laws and your Rights may prevent unpleasant surprises.
